Beautiful casement windows
For over three decades, we’ve designed, handcrafted and installed thousands of casement windows (and associated transom windows). Our windows have met the requirements of discerning customers with properties inside and outside UK conservation areas and Areas of Natural Beauty. That’s why you can have complete confidence in the naturally-durable windows that will honour your home’s structural integrity and embellish its splendour.
In our traditional carpentry workshop, we craft windows to be durable, secure, weatherproof and a perfect fit. We do this by combining traditional skills and the latest bead joinery techniques – bottom-fitted beads, drainage channels and ventilation grooves that drain water away so it doesn’t get trapped and cause damage by swelling.
You want to meet building control requirements and any applicable conservation area guidelines, respect architectural heritage, care for the environment and enjoy the comfort, security and energy efficiency of modern window technology. That’s why we reinvented casement windows with features such as these:
• Traditional casement proportions, faithfully reproduced sections and profiles, and puttyline external appearance.
• Classic height-to-width ratios, transom and mullion positioning and glazing aperture division.
• Elegant glazing bars (bonded on 20mm and 24mm double-glazed units).
• Durable mortise and tenon frame construction.
• Ovolo moulding to window frames.
• Lambs tongue moulded glazing bar sections.
• Traditional stays and fasteners as well as the latest security innovations, including robust multipoint locking.
• Slimlite super-thin units as regularly approved by conservation officers and architects. Innovative Slimlite glazing doesn’t alter windows’ traditional appearance and is virtually undetectable.
Slimlite glass units are designed primarily for conservation areas and Grade II listed extensions. They can also be used in Grade II listed buildings if approved by your local authority.
NOTE: Slimlite glazing is designed to fit into single-glazed sections and profiles and shouldn’t be confused with actual single glazing.

The art and craft behind your new casement windows
Whatever window types we make, you benefit from our lengthy craft tradition of carpentry and joinery with sustainably-sourced timbers, Depending on specification, we make factory-painted windows from Siberian larch or high technology engineered hardwoods such as Accoya®. Accoya modified timber is exceptionally durable, stable and strong, with top environmental credentials and better weatherproofing than conventional timber. And because it’s made from multiple compressed layers, natural variations are removed – so your windows won’t warp or jam, even after heavy rain.
The timber sections in our casement windows feature inconspicuous and painstakingly grooved Schlegal weather seals and gaskets for reassuring weatherproofing. Glazing options include our proven 20mm double-glazed units with authentically-detailed bonded glazing bars.
Alternatively, there’s our top of the range internally-glazed 20mm and 24mm St Gobain Planitherm A-rated glazing with soft-coat double-glazed units, bonded glazing bars, argon-filled cavities and impressive 1.2 W/m2K performance. The benefits include years of comfort and lower energy bills.
Traditional craftsmanship and the latest innovations
To finish manufacturing, your casements will be factory coated with sprayed Sikkens moisture-vapour-permeable (breathable) paints or factory-stained with alkyd acrylic coatings.
And having manufactured and treated your windows, we won’t leave installation to just anyone. Look forward to meeting our own friendly, efficient installation team…
